Camp Joshua Mountain Adventure

Be prepared to enjoy a variety of mountain adventure activities. Camp out in the Great National Sand Dunes and explore the dunes under starlight, hike through a beautiful valley, and enjoy waterfalls, overlooks, and cascading mountain streams, load up your backpacks, hike, and camp out in the wilderness backcountry, enjoy an afternoon relaxing in the local hot springs, play in the river, participate in an extracurricular activity on Friday, and enjoy food, campfires, and fellowship.

The Camp Joshua Mountain Adventure experience doesn’t end with just the rush of adventure, fun, and beauty. Each trip is surrounded in prayer, fellowship, discipleship and will be spiritually, emotionally, and relationally stimulating. Small and large group sessions coupled with intimate time with God that bring you into a deeper understanding and awareness of God’s love, presence, and power.

This is an adventure that you don’t want to miss. The heart, spirit, and body are encouraged, strengthened, and pushed to new levels on these outings as lifelong friends and life-changing moments sprout out of the challenge and beauty of the Colorado Wilderness.

The Great National Sand Dunes

Camp out in the environment of a true Colorado wonder. Climb sand dunes that are so tall they are named like mountains. Surf the dunes, explore in starlight, play in the Medano Creek, hike the Montville nature trail, enjoy camping out under the stars, and enjoy the fire pit to all hours of the night.

Hiking and Backpacking

This experience is truly incredible for all who accept the invitation to adventure through southern Colorado Weminuche and San Juan Wilderness. We carefully plan each trip to be full of challenging, relaxing, and breath-taking experiences for both the seasoned and first-time campers and backpackers. Enjoy stunning waterfalls, mountain peaks, and gorgeous valleys that will leave you with images you will never forget. Cook at the campfire, sing songs of praise and fellowship with those who will become lifelong friends. Colorado is one of the most beautiful places on earth – come and see what God created for you to enjoy.

Extra-Curricular Activity

The group will participate in one of these Friday activities (based on availability and group desire)-

River Rafting in Durango or Pagosa Springs
Horseback Riding in Durango
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

Mountain Time

Take some downtime, some quiet time, some time to listen to and be with God. Time to reflect. Time to look forward. Time to interact with others who are seeking the same refueling and recharging that you are seeking. You can take this time to rediscover or realign with God and discover or redefine your life calling or address specific, self-identified life issues and life challenges. Throughout the trip, we design blocks of time for you to enjoy what God created for all, while discovering more of what God created you for.

Pagosa Springs

Travel into the little town of Pagosa Springs for a long, relaxing soak in the World’s deepest hot springs. Shop, explore, sightsee and just chill out. End the day at the Mountain Light Lodge having a delicious hot dinner, enjoying downtime, and then retiring for a good night’s rest.

Voice of Wilderness Mountain Light Lodge

You will have the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and comforts of a remote mountain lodge, overlooking a vast pristine valley, with a panorama of alpine grandeur as a backdrop. Enjoy a big buffet-style breakfast, including eggs, bacon, ham, hash browns, fresh fruit, various breads, pastries, and plenty of coffee, tea, and juice. One of the evenings, enjoy a wonderful home-cooked meal around the fireplace or out on our gorgeous deck. After the evening meal, you may choose to select a book from our library and find a cozy spot to read, enjoy lively conversation with others, play a game or work a puzzle, or just curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace. You may just want to kick back in a recliner on the deck and enjoy the sunshine while reading a book of choice from the library. Or a leisurely stroll in the meadow to photograph wildflowers and wildlife may sound better.
