An Aesthetically Pleasing Masterpiece
Mountain Light Lodge
is a fully equipped Bed & Breakfast style lodge. This beautiful building is constructed of large, full round logs, peeled by hand and left in their natural state. Each log is custom cut, trimmed, and fitted together with pioneer style chinking between each log. The structure creates a multifaceted atmosphere that blends the feel of the old frontier, along with the cozy comforts of a mountain lodge, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing structural masterpiece.
COZY, COMFORTABLE, AND FULLY EQUIPPED
The first floor of the lodge includes a fully equipped, modern kitchen with an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, dishes, and silverware. The first floor also includes two comfortable bedrooms, each with a private bath. The main socializing space on this level is the dining and living area uniquely situated around a big open fireplace, with a fantastic view of mountain peaks in the foreground. The second floor includes two bedrooms, a central bath, and a large great room containing the library. The third floor is a cozy loft area that is ideal for group sleeping arrangements or as a space for solitude and reflection.
BACKPACKING, FISHING, SNOWMOBILING, RELAXING
An abundance of challenging backpacking trails is found only minutes away in the Weminuche Wilderness. Perched at 9,400 feet elevation, one only has to walk a short distance from the lodge for some of the best hunting in the Rockies. The fisherman likewise has convenient access to the many beautiful streams, rivers, and lakes of southwestern Colorado. Although closed during winter, the forest service road offers an exciting 8-mile snowmobile journey allowing for the enjoyment of this remote winter wonderland. Of course, the setting is ideal for those who prefer a quiet, peaceful retreat experience in the midst of remote mountain splendor.

Mountain Light Lodge is located in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, north of Pagosa Springs. Situated on 35 acres, surrounded by national forest, this remote log lodge overlooks a vast pristine valley with a panorama of alpine grandeur in the background.
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
We provide quality, well-maintained equipment for each guest. Backpacks are available for your daily outings if needed. If you choose to stay out overnight, we will also provide lightweight tents, stoves, cook gear, and food. A limited number of mountain bikes are available for those who prefer to ride the trails. For those choosing a winter sports opportunity, snowshoes, and cross-country skis are available. Topographic maps and compass are provided for the location you want to backpack, fish, hunt, or snowmobile.
