Our men's trip into the San Juan Mountains was the perfect combination of physical challenge, spiritual renewal, and relationship building. The scenery and the wildlife were incredible! Going into the mountains, we were a group of men who sort of knew each other, but coming out of the mountains we were a band of brothers who could call each other true life-long friends.

Voice of Wilderness provided an incredible life-changing experience for my two teenage sons and me as they guided us and a group of other fathers and sons on a backpacking trip into the beautiful San Juan Mountains. The devotionals and discussion times facilitated by the awesome staff helped change my relationship with my sons forever. Weminuche Wilderness
Since 1973 Voice of Wilderness has conducted trips in a variety of locations throughout the Rocky Mountains. The majority of our trips are conducted in the Weminuche Wilderness within the San Juan National Forest of Southwestern Colorado. Trips are also offered in Idaho, Alaska and Arizona.
A Variety of Meaningful Adventures
Our goal is to offer trips that are unique in the market place - from the comforts of a handcrafted lodge and the delights of homecooked meals, to a variety of challenging adventurous activities with various degrees of difficulty. One would be hard pressed to find a better experience and value in meaningful wilderness adventures.

Voice of Wilderness base camp is located north of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, high in the San Juan Mountains, totally surrounded by national forest. A rustic log lodge with a large open fireplace and cozy bedrooms will welcome each participant at the beginning and end of each trip. Panoramic views can be seen in all directions from these 35 beautiful acres, which are clothed partially by magnificent aspen, fir and spruce trees and partially by a meadow covered with tall grass and a wide variety of wild flowers.
