V.O.W. is now offering it’s first adventure to the far north – Alaska. An adventure that includes two days of hiking Alaska’s mountains, four days of rafting the China River and three days of fly-fishing the world-class Russian River. You will be responsible for your own flight arrangements to Anchorage. Plan to arrive on June 29th. We will lodge that evening on the beautiful campus of the University of Alaska. Early the next morning, we will meet our trip partners – True North Expeditions. We will then drive to the town of China and meet one of Alaska’s best-known bush pilots and fly deep into the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. The flight in itself is an adventure as we view a spectacular landscape of vast evergreen forest, canyons carved by mighty rivers and an infinite amount of glaciated peaks reaching far into the sky.

Our adventure continues when we land at Ultima Thule Lodge, world-renowned for it’s remote setting and playing host to the rich and famous. For the next two days we will camp on the bluffs above the lodge and hike the rugged, scenic mountains surrounding the area. Bright and early the next morning, we’ll load our gear into the rafts and begin a four-day float trip through what is considered the continent’s greatest mountain range. After four days of sensational wilderness scenery, including untamed sections of whitewater flowing through spectacular canyons, an abundance of wildlife, and waterfalls reaching up to 400 feet, we’ll arrive at the confluence of the mighty Copper River.

At this point, we will end this fabulous river journey and head back to the University of Alaska for a little rest and relaxation. The next day we will head south to a quaint Alaskan lodge for three days of fishing on the world-class Russian River. Seeking out rainbow trout, Dolly Varden Char and King Salmon in some of the world’s best water will be a fisherman’s dream of a lifetime. So start assembling your gear and come with us – North to Alaska. More details here!
