Funpacked Adventure

Join us for a fun packed adventure of rafting, fishing, hiking the wilderness back country and - OH YEAH, a jet boat ride back up the Salmon River.  Evenings are spent enjoying expertly prepared gourmet meals, relaxing around the camp fire with friends and reflecting over the message of our creator.

Frank Church 'River of No Return' Wilderness

Our journey will include traveling through 56 miles of the Frank Church 'River of No Return' Wilderness, one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States.  This vast wilderness is cut by the Main Salmon River which creates the second deepest gorge in North America.

Rapids, Native American Remnants, Early Mines, Sandy Beaches

You'll find the distractions of day to day city life simply do not exist here.  At times you'll plunge through rapids or gently glide through peaceful sections past remnants of Native America and early pioneer settlements - abandoned homesteads, cabins and early mines.  The Main Salmon is warmer than most mountain rivers, and there are plenty of rapids of varying difficulty, from splashy Class II runs to adrenaline pumping Class III drops at Bailey, Split Rock, Big Mallard and Elkhorn. Campsites along the river are on big sandy beaches or tucked away in groves of Ponderosa and Douglas fir.

After 3 days of rafting down the mighty Salmon, we will board a jet boat on the morning of day 4, for a wild and crazy 3 hour ride back up  through the rapids to the point at which we started 3 days earlier.  Did I say fun packed?

Majestic Sawtooth Mountain Range

We will then head back to the Grey House Inn for some down time, an evening feast and a good nights rest.  After an early rise and a good breakfast on day 5, we will head out for a day of hiking in the wilderness back country of the majestic Sawtooth Mountain range.  This range encompasses an abundance of lakes, providing some of the best opportunities for high mountain fishing and photography on the planet.

We will conclude this wonderful adventure enjoying Sharon Osgood's cooking on the deck of the Grey House Inn. Wait until you sit down to the full country breakfast of berry or banana pancakes, Belgian waffles, and fresh ranch eggs, served with juice, freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate, tea or milk.
