Fathers - A Week with that Special Daughter

Fathers here is your chance to spend a week in the mountains with that very special daughter that loves adventure. This trip will focus on day hikes to the many unique spots in the San Juan Mountains. Waterfalls, wildlife, fishing, soaking your feet in a cool stream, are just a few of the sights and activities enjoyed.

                         Overnight in the  Weminuche Wilderness

A highlight of the week is to backpack into the Weminuche Wilderness for an overnight camp out in a beautiful meadow surrounded by towering snow covered peaks. We will spend the day exploring the vast forest and the areas along the many streams that cascade through the valleys and down the mountain sides. That evening we will have a mountain style cookout and sit around the campfire and tell tall tales before turning in for the night. After breakfast the next day we will travel into Pagosa and soak in the hot springs before heading back to the lodge.

Rafting the San Juan

We will also spend a day rafting the San Juan River, enjoying the beauty of the canyons, the surprise appearances of wildlife along the banks and of course the spray of whitewater as we dart through the rapids - expect a water fight with a neighboring rafter if you venture to close.

Partner with Faithful Fathering Initiative

Voice of Wilderness will partner with Faithful Fathering Initiative in Texas, who will facilitate evening discussion time around father-daughter dialogue. Connecting to a new level of relationship is the goal of the week together. 

Relaxing at Mountain Light Lodge

So fathers, bring your daughter to the mountains and take in these adventures, along with enjoying the evenings in the cozy atmosphere of Mountain Light Lodge, around the fireplace, playing a game or working a puzzle. The last evening, a very special feast of steaks with all the trimmings will be prepared on the grill and enjoyed on the deck as we look out at the majesty of the San Juan Mountains. All, will be time well spent with that special daughter that loves adventure.
